Korouoma is a 30 kilometer long and up to 130 meter deep canyon fracture valley, located 110 kilometers southeast of Rovaniemi. It offers breathtaking scenery all year round with its cliffs, rapids and waterfalls. This nature reserve is also home to rare species and a great natural area for hikers. In winter, the waterfalls turn into spectacular ice formations that are famous for ice climbing and are a major attraction for tourists from all over the world.
Your guide will take you to Korouoma Canyon, where you can take a nice hike in the park. You have the opportunity to observe Europe's most spectacular frozen waterfalls and enjoy the beauty of snowy nature. As you hike through the canyon, your guide will keep an eye out for wildlife and flora and teach you more about nature and your surroundings. On a short hike, you might even see tracks left by wolves, lynx, wolverine, elk, reindeer, marten, hare and arctic hare...
Important:
Dress appropriately for the arctic environment, you can get cold weather clothes and boots if necessary. The minimum number of participants is 2 people. A maximum of 8 participants in the group. This excursion is done in all weather conditions, so dress appropriately. The minimum age of passengers is 5 years. Not recommended for participants with heart conditions or other serious medical conditions. The trip includes some walking.
