A hot air balloon flight is a unique experience like no other! On a public flight you get to enjoy stunning scenery and a peaceful ride. Experienced pilots ensure a safe flying experience. In spring and summer, public flights are flown in the evening as the sun is setting.
The departure for the Helsinki flight is, weather permitting, from Helsinki or from the coast. If the wind is blowing out to sea, the departure will be moved inland if necessary (usually to the Central Uusimaa area).
The hot air balloon flight lasts about an hour, and overall you should reserve 4-5 hours for the entire hot air balloon event. Preparations before take-off and any transfer from the meeting point to the launch site take about an hour. Preparing the balloon for launch is teamwork, and passengers also have the opportunity to take part.
When setting off, the exact landing site is not yet known. The balloon is followed by an assistant trained for this activity. After landing, the balloon is packed back into transport condition and the flight is celebrated with a sparkling-wine ceremony. Finally, there is return transport by car from the landing site for passengers arriving from the skies.
