Karostas cietums

Karosta Prison or Guardhouse. The building was built around 1900 and until 1997 served as a place for serving disciplinary sentences for military personnel. Since its early years, it has been a gloomy place for breaking people's destinies and suppressing free spirits. The authorities changed and with them the prisoners changed, there were revolutionaries, sailors and non-commissioned officers of the Tsarist army, deserters of the German Wehrmacht, enemies of the people of Stalin's time, soldiers of the Soviet army and the Latvian army and other disobedient people. The last prisoners left inscriptions on the walls of the cells relatively recently - in 1997. Various inexplicable phenomena have been observed in the Guardhouse - knocking footsteps, electric bulbs unscrewing themselves, inexplicable opening of closed cells ... however, the most unpleasant surprise has been the appearance of imaginary figures in the prison corridors.

You are offered the opportunity to go on a tour of Karosta Prison, choose one of the closed room games, as well as spend the night in the prison and feel like a prisoner. You can use the offers together with a group of friends or family - this will be a great opportunity to learn something new about the history of Liepāja Prison, have an interesting time and get new sensations. You are given an unusual opportunity to visit the only military prison in Europe open to tourists!
