Karosta prison or head guard. The building was built around 1900 and until 1997 served as a place of serving disciplinary punishments for military personnel. From its earliest years, it has been a grim place for breaking human destinies and suppressing the free spirit. The authorities changed and the prisoners changed with it, there were revolutionaries, sailors and non-commissioned officers of the tsarist army, deserters from the German Wehrmacht, enemies of the people during Stalin's time, soldiers of the Soviet army and the Latvian army and other disobedients. The last prisoners left inscriptions on the cell walls relatively recently - in 1997. Various inexplicable phenomena have been observed in the warden - clattering steps, electric light bulbs unscrewing themselves, inexplicable opening of closed cells... however, the most unpleasant thing was the appearance of apparent figures in the prison corridors.
