Korouoma Frozen Waterfalls
Korouoma is a 30-kilometre-long and up to 130-metre-deep canyon fracture valley located 110 kilometres southeast of Rovaniemi. It offers breathtaking scenery all year round with its cliffs, rapids, and waterfalls. This nature reserve is also home to rare species and is a wonderful natural area for hikers. In winter, the waterfalls turn into spectacular ice formations that are famous for ice climbing, and they are a major attraction for travellers from all over the world.
Your guide will take you to Korouoma Canyon, where you can enjoy a pleasant hike in the park. You will have the chance to admire some of Europe's most magnificent frozen waterfalls and enjoy the beauty of snowy nature. As you hike through the canyon, your guide will keep an eye out for wildlife and flora and teach you more about the nature and environment around you. On a short excursion, you might even see tracks left by wolves, lynx, wolverines, moose, reindeer, martens, hares, and Arctic hares...

Minimum number of participants: 2 people. Maximum group size: 8 participants. The minimum age for travellers is 5 years.
This excursion takes place in all weather conditions, so please dress appropriately. Dress suitably for the Arctic environment; cold-weather clothing and boots will be provided if needed.
Not recommended for participants with heart problems or other serious medical conditions. The excursion involves some walking.
